Factory orders represent economic index including orders for durable and soft goods. Durable are those goods, which operating service life is over three years (cars, furniture, home appliances). Soft goods include clothes, food production, light industrial goods.

Data on factory orders is published in the end of every month at 10:00 a.m EST (New York), the week after publishing "Durable Goods Orders" index.
